A machine operator charged with assaulting a taxi driver at a gas station with intent to rob him, has been granted bail.

Alvin Dhoray entered a not guilty plea to the offence read by San Fernando senior magistrate Cherril-Anne Antoine. It was alleged that on October 6, at a gas station in Mon Repos, he assaulted Azard Mohammed with intent to rob him.

Defence attorney Vade Trebouhansingh held for attorney Gobin Harrypersad during the matter. He said Dhoray, 41, a father of one, had no previous convictions.

This was confirmed by police prosecutor Cleyon Seedan. He also said that the victim was not hospitalized and had no injuries.
