Dear reader, our country is in crisis, and it is left to us the electorate to rescue it from out of this morass. In 1995, the Labour Party headed by Dr. Denzil L. Douglas won the general elections. Dr. Timothy Harris did not yet hold his Doctoral degree. During his tenure as Minister of Government, he sought leave to pursue his Doctoral degree and was granted permission to do so, with full pay. Whereas Civil Servants received three-fifths of their salary whilst on study leave, he a Minister of Government was receiving his full pay. In his absence, Dr. Douglas manned the portfolios of Dr. Timothy Harris and looked after the affairs of Harris’ constituents. Instead of returning home and expressing gratitude, now armed with his Doctoral degree, Dr. Harris entered his office and asked Dr. Douglas: “When are you going to turn over the Leadership of the Party to me?” My grandmother used to say: “Ungratefulness is worse than witchcraft!!”
When Ernest Wigley, a strong Labour supporter, tried to bring Dr. Douglas and Dr. Harris together to resolve their differences, Dr. Harris agreed to a date and time but did not show up. Wigley got wind that Harris — who was still a Member of the Labour Government and Chairman of the St. Kitts Labour Party — was at his private home in Tabernacle holding a meeting with the hierarchy and some supporters of PAM, who were urging him to leave the Labour Movement and join forces with them, promising to make him Prime Minister. Who can trust such a man? Having been given that assurance of leadership by the PAMites, Dr Timothy Harris secretly campaigned in his Constituency asking his electorate if they would still vote for him if he ran on his own. Wasn’t this a Judas Iscariot act of treachery committed by Dr. Timothy Harris against Dr. Denzil Douglas and the Labour Party of which he was still a member and Chairman?
Dr. Timothy Harris displayed loudly and visibly that treachery is in his DNA. Just as a leopard cannot change its spots, so too, he cannot change who he was born to be — A TRAITOR! He who associates with him does so at their own peril, for A TRAITOR will always remain a TRAITOR, unworthy of friendship and unworthy of others’ trust. The Unity mirage government forged by Dr. Timothy Harris’ PLP, PAM and CCM was always about Timothy Harris and his family. When Mark Brantley and Shawn Richards were holding secret meetings in boats in the channel to dump him overboard, why couldn’t they accomplish their mission? Why did none of them step forth to redeem their good name and character? The question now posed is: What does Dr. Timothy Harris have hanging over their heads? Are these trustworthy men to govern our beloved country?
