BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS — A new Central Basseterre Labour Branch executive team has been installed and is preparing to better serve communities within Constituency No. 2. The installation ceremony, the first of its kind in the federation, was held at the CUNA Caribbean Conference Centre on Sunday 5th September 2021 under the theme “Passing the Torch.” The restructuring process began in the latter half of 2020 with a consultation phase that allowed the branch to connect with the communities they serve.

The new Executive team is led by Ms. Vikiesh Pickering as Chairperson, supported by Mr. Sydney Bridgewater as Past Chair, Mr. Peter Jenkins as Vice Chair for Governance, Mr. Khareem Cabey as Vice Chair for Community Affairs, Ms. Tameka Bassue as Secretary, Ms. Cleo Henry as Treasurer, Ms. Nadine Natta as Assistant Secretary General, Ms. Prudencia Gaiton as Women’s Representative and Ms. Krystal Lescott as Youth Representative. In her inaugural speech, the newly-elected Chair said: “We are energized and we are ready for the fight. We say no retreat, no surrender! We realised that there was only one way up and that was to consult with the people we serve.” Branch membership is open and anyone with a passion to serve can visit centralbasseterre.com to join.
