BASSETERRE (Friday 15th January 2021) — Details of injuries sustained by a female Ross University student attacked by a tiger shark in the Narrows on Saturday 9th January 2021 have been shared publicly. Brook, a final semester veterinary medicine student, was attacked during her exercise swim with her Saturday Swim Group and sustained injuries to her left leg and right hand. After emergency surgery in St. Kitts, she was transported to Houston for further treatment. An update confirmed that due to the severity of the tiger shark’s bite, her left leg had to be amputated above the knee, and she had received two blood transfusions.
