BASSETERRE, St. Kitts (Thursday 18th July 2024)-This week’s sentencing of Patrick Howell Jr., a 29-year-old from Cane Garden, Nevis, has sent shockwaves through the community with a murder conviction of 34 and a half years accounting for the largest portion.
His sentencing comes one day shy of the three-year anniversary of his initial charges for a series of crimes, including the murder of Travis Clarke committed on 16th July 2021. Howell appeared before High Court Judge His Lordship Patrick Thompson Jr. in the Nevis Circuit of the High Court on Wednesday 17th July 2024 where he was sentenced to a total of 45 and a half years in prison for a series of crimes he was previously convicted of.
According to the police report, Patrick Howell Jr. was initially charged on July 20, 2021, for the murder of Travis Clarke in Nevis, along with the offenses of robbery and larceny, all committed on July 16, 2021. Howell has now been sentenced as follows: Larceny: Two (2) years imprisonment, Robbery: Nine (9) years imprisonment and Murder:** Thirty-four and a half (34 1/2) years imprisonment.
Reportedly, the sentences for larceny and robbery are to run concurrently with the sentence for murder. – LOCAL NEWS – 5
