BASSETERRE, St. Kitts (Friday 28th June 2024) – The 26th edition of the annual St. Kitts Music Festival began last night ( Thursday 27th June 2024) with a bang at Warner Park Stadium in Basseterre, drawing scores of music lovers to the venue in setting the stage for a weekend of music and celebration.
Dubbed locally as the ‘Jump Up Night’, the opening night featured a high-energy mix of soca and dancehall, creating a festive atmosphere with fans waving rags and flags. The diverse blend of genres showcased the talents of homegrown, regional, and international performers, captivating the audience from start to finish.
The line-up for the night included a stellar array of artists such as Adam O, Akaii U Sweet, TBone, KT Dan, Pumpa, Itebulous, Eazi, Speedy, Nadia Batson, Kerwin Dubois, Mr. Mention, Mical Teja, Asa Banton, Small Axe Band, and the well-known Jamaican dancehall sensation Alkaline, who brought an extra dose of excitement to the stage.
Fans revelled in the vibrant soca rhythms and the pulsating beats of dancehall, making the first night a resounding success. The performances were electric, with each artist bringing their unique style and energy, keeping the crowd dancing and cheering throughout the night.
Tonight (Friday 28th June), the festival continues with the second night, predominantly featuring reggae and dancehall vibes. The line-up includes acts such as Third World, Kabaka Pyramid, Jaydo$, Busy Signal, Tommy Lee Sparta, Capleton, Masicka, Hi
featuring international superstars. The closing night will see performances from Mary J. Blige, 450, Freddie Jackson, Rick Ross, Remone Watson, Nicholas Brancker Band, Tony
