BASSETERRE, St.Kitts (Monday 2nd April, 2018) – The body of a man was found on Sunday on a steep ghaut side in the Old Road community.

The local authorities say close to 5:00 PM, a report was received about a body being found in the mountainous area of Wingfield Road.

As a result, the police responded and visited the scene, along with officers from the St. Kitts and Nevis Fire and Rescue Services (SKNFRS) and the St. Kitts-Nevis Defence Force (SKNDF).

Upon arrival, the partially decomposed body of a male individual was seen among the trees on the side of a steep ghaut.

Reportedly, members of the SKNFRS removed the body and the scene was processed by the Crime Scene Unit. An autopsy is expected to be performed shortly and the Police are currently working to confirm the identity of the individual.

Many people are of the opinion that the body is that of reported missing man 22-year-old Priston Flemming of Newton Ground who was last seen by a family member on Tuesday 27th February at about 9:00 PM in the Old Road area.
