BASSETERRE, St. Kitts (Wednesday 4th October 2023)- ”This is a real embarrassment for our country. This is publicity that we don’t need, and it is sad that we find ourselves in this position, and the government is going to have to take some steps in terms of making sure we do some damage control on this.” So said former government minister and former ambassador to the United Nations Sam Condor while speaking on Freedom FM’s ‘Groundings’ programme aired live on Friday 29th September 2023 while commenting on the recent recall of Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Saint Kitts and Nevis to the United Nations Nerys Dockery.

He highlighted: “I am not talking about the recalling; I am talking about how we find ourselves in this position.” According to him: “This is just really something I am really unhappy about and the government has to take a look at how we deal with these matters… not only selection but process and leadership, but like I said we’re going to discuss these things because they are important for our country-the image of our country.” “That is the biggest stage in the world… Ambassadors were calling me from all over [asking] ‘What’s happening?’ ‘How could we help, Sam? ‘This is not looking good’.”
