Basseterre, St. Kitts (NOVEMBER 2017):- A judge on Tuesday of this week, November 27th, ruled in favour of private Gynaecologist and Obstetrician, Dr. Dale Crawford, after a three year long legal battle against the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis.

Dr. Crawford’s post as Consultant Gynaecologist and Obstetrician at the Joseph N France General Hospital were revoked by the Public Service Commission on October 7th 2014.

He was then informed by then Chairman of the Medical Board, Dr. Patrick Martin, that there was an investigation into alleged misconduct thus he was suspended of his operating room duties.

He was further informed in a letter by Dr. Martin that the Medical Board had suspended all privileges as an independent medical practitioner within the public sector.

Dr. Crawford sought legal advice and after a three year long court battle former resident High Court Judge, Justice Marlene Carter gave the judgement in his favour.

The court also ordered “a declaration that the actions of the Public Service Commission in its recommendation to the Governor General was in contravention of section 32.2 of the Public Service Act and unlawful.”

Dr. Crawford maintains that the allegations are “baseless and yet to be proven” indicating that he feels vindicated.
