The Labour Spokesman calls upon ALL the people of St. Kitts and Nevis to join with and give their full support to Comrade Dr. Terrance Drew, who on Monday 30th November filed a case in the High Court against Eugene Hamilton, dealing with certain practices that took place during the June 2020 general elections. Amongst the numerous alleged corrupt practices are: giving away crown lands for votes; using food packages to entice voters during the COVID lockdown; coercing votes by withholding housing materials; the illegal removal of legitimate voters from the register; holding elections during a state of emergency; Labour candidates being harassed and forced to stay indoors while government candidates canvassed freely; and Labour political meetings capped at 15 persons while government side held large jam sessions at a major hotel. As Dr. Drew has pointed out: “If these practices become the norm and are not challenged then we would lose our democracy and all the freedoms that we have fought hard for as a country.”
