JOHANNESBURG, South Africa — The West Indies Women lost the fourth One Day International against South Africa Women by six wickets, giving the home team a 2-1 series win. West Indies Women won the toss and elected to bat first. Deandra Dottin scored 36 before being caught, and Kycia Knight rebuilt the innings, falling for 48 off 78 deliveries. West Indies were bowled out for 174 from 49.2 overs, with Shabnim Ismail taking 4/44. South Africa looked set to cruise to victory but Aaliyah Alleyne and Afy Fletcher — playing in her first international match since returning from maternity leave — picked up early wickets. However, captain Sune Luus (47) and Andrie Steyn (52) ensured a comfortable South African victory, reached in 39.5 overs. The series results: 1st ODI abandoned due to rain; 2nd ODI tied, West Indies won one-over eliminator; 3rd ODI South Africa won by 96 runs; 4th ODI South Africa won by 6 wickets. The West Indies Women depart for New Zealand to participate in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup.
NASIR HOSSAIN: EX-BANGLADESH BATTER ON TRIAL CHARGED WITH ADULTERY — BBC Sport
Former Bangladesh batter Nasir Hossain, 30, has gone on trial charged with adultery after another man claimed he illegally married his wife. Nasir married Tamima Sultana in February 2021. Her first husband Rakib Hasan has filed charges of adultery, claiming he is still married to her. Bangladeshi men, but not women, can be tried for adultery in the country, although cases are rare. If found guilty Nasir could face a maximum punishment of seven years in jail. Tamima has been charged with forgery. Both Nasir and Tamima have been granted bail. Nasir played 19 Tests, 65 one-day internationals and 31 T20 internationals for Bangladesh, but has not represented his country since 2018.
