Prime Minister Drew Warmly Greets Staff on Familiarization Tour of Government Headquarters

Basseterre, St. Kitts, August 11, 2022 (SKNIS): Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, the Honourable Dr. Terrance Drew, warmly greeted staff during a familiarization tour of Government Headquarters (GHQ) on the morning of Thursday, August 11, 2022.

Prime Minister Drew, who was escorted by Sheridane Warner, Chief Personnel Officer (CPO), Human Resource Management Department (HRMD), visited the Ministry of Agriculture, HRMD, Internal Audit, St. Kitts and Nevis Information Service (SKNIS), National Archives, Passport Office, as well as the Security Officers attached to Government Headquarters.

“It was a pleasure meeting all those who contribute to national development and I want to thank them for their service to our country and to tell them that I am here to work and really to say that we need to work together as a team to keep our country moving, and to get our country back to number one,” said Prime Minister Drew. “It was an excellent tour and I want to thank those who are involved and those who received me with open arms.”

Prime Minister Drew thanked the CPO for escorting him around and for allowing him to “meet everyone who works” at GHQ including permanent secretaries, heads of departments, as well as the custodial staff who “keep the physical environment clean.”

St. Kitts and Nevis’ newly elected Prime Minister, Honourable Dr. Terrance Michael Drew, and members of his soon-to-be sworn-in Cabinet began their first working day on Tuesday, August 09, 2022.

The Prime Minister along with elected members Dr. the Hon. Geoffrey Hanley, Honourable Marsha Henderson, Honourable Konris Maynard, Honourable Samal Duggins, and the Right Honourable Dr. Denzil Douglas were warmly welcomed with loud applause and smiling faces from the staff at Government Headquarters, who excitedly waited in the foyer and outside their offices to applaud the newly elected parliamentarians.

Cabinet Secretary Josephine Huggins officially greeted Prime Minister Drew and escorted the team to the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM). Dr. Drew was introduced to the OPM staff and toured the attached offices comprising the Prime Minister’s Office, the Prime Minister’s Meeting Room and the Cabinet Meeting Room.
