NRP MEETS WITH ELECTORAL COMMISSION REGARDING IRREGULARITIES — March 14, 2022
Leader of the Nevis Reformation Party (NRP) Dr. Janice Daniel-Hodge is sending a clear message that the NRP will not sit back and allow the electoral process to be meddled with. In a discussion held with the Electoral Commission of St. Kitts and Nevis on March 12, 2022, Dr. Daniel-Hodge accompanied by members of the NRP, called upon the commission to act expeditiously and investigate the operations of the Electoral Office on Nevis. Issues of concern to the NRP include: erosion of confidence in the process and electoral officials, denied access to photo voters’ lists, denial of access to records and forms contrary to law, the cleaning up and regularizing of seriously compromised voter lists, use of new electoral ballot boxes, and the compilation of voters’ lists for elections. The Electoral Commission acknowledged the concerns raised and agreed to provide a response within 14 days.
SKNFA FORMS PARTNERSHIP WITH LA LIGA CLUB CADIZ C.F.
The St. Kitts and Nevis Football Association (SKNFA) and La Liga club Cadiz C.F. have announced a partnership that will see young players from St. Kitts and Nevis getting professional and developmental opportunities at the club. SKNFA President Atiba Harris and International Director of Football at Cadiz C.F. Enrique Martinez Perez signed the agreement at a press conference at the Royal St. Kitts Hotel. Mr. Harris said this opportunity will include female players as well as male players. “To formulate this agreement with Cadiz Football Club, a La Liga Club — it’s a realistic opportunity for our young players to have a realistic, standardized pathway to chase their dreams and become the next professional footballer,” Harris said. Incidentally, Cadiz was the first professional club Harris himself played for at age 18. Founded in 1910, Cadiz competes in the La Liga, Spain’s top flight football league.
