Canadian national Tse Chi Lop, 57, described as “Asia’s El Chapo,” has been arrested in Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport on a INTERPOL Red Notice issued by the Australian Federal Police. Tse, who was born in Guangdong Province, China but migrated to Canada in the 1980s, was arrested when his flight to Canada made a stopover in Amsterdam. He is estimated to be responsible for the importation of more than two-thirds of illegal drugs into Australia and is suspected of running the syndicate known to its members as “The Company.” “Tse Chi Lop is in the league of El Chapo or maybe Pablo Escobar,” said Jeremy Douglas of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime.
