Guyana Repeats Miss Black San’ Win

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts (Monday 2nd April 2018)- Miss Black San Guyana, Faydeha King is the new Miss Black San’ International Queen 2018.

The Guyanese stunner won the coveted title on Sunday April 1st at the Sandy Point Hard Court making it the second consecutive win for Guyana.

This is the first time in the history that Guyana has won a back-to-back international crown.

The 25-year-old country girl from Corriverton, Berbice, beat eight other contestants from the Caribbean and the USA and snatched three of the five judged segments namely Top Designer Swimsuit, Identical Swimwear and the Battle of the Brushes, earning her a total of 1135 points.

She was followed by Miss Trinidad and Tobago Afeya Jeffrey with 1096 points who won the Interview Segment.

Miss St. Maarten Shanice Powell secured the Second Runner Up spot with 1054.5 points.

Miss St. Kitts-Nevis Shaquoya Flanders came in Third Runner Up with a total of 1044 points. She was also awarded best results for the Vintage Swimwear segment.

Black San’ committee in a statement stated they are proud and privileged to have successfully staged the second edition of the international swimsuit pageant.

Black San’ Bang-a-Lang is an eclectic community festival, with events ranging from open-air concerts and talent pageants to J’ouvert street jams in which calypso bands parade through the streets.
