BASSETERRE, St. Kitts (Friday 11th March 2022) — Well-known social and political commentator Dwyer Astaphan is of the view that St. Kitts-Nevis cannot be best served under the Team Unity government in the current political atmosphere due to the “bad blood” happenings in the coalition that is, in his words, neither a team nor united. He made the observation in his latest commentary dated 9th March 2022.

“Team Unity, a term I use very loosely because they’re neither a team nor are they united, are preparing themselves for an election but they have a problem — they don’t trust each other, they don’t love each other, they do not respect each other, they’re not a team. The bad blood is at a boiling point; a point of no return as we see PAM and PLP preparing for the possibility of running candidates, each of them, in all eight constituencies. The people of the country already know that there is no team in Team Unity and there is no unity in Team Unity. It’s a motley crew; every body tugging in a different direction, at each other’s throats,” Astaphan stated.

“The country cannot be best served in circumstances like this, and the chances of improving are between slim and zero,” he added.
