BASSETERRE, St.Kitts (Monday 8th October 2018)-This media house is currently following information received which alleges that before Officer Lennox Hodge got arrested for traffic related offenses-a matter currently tainted with public controversy over political victimisation – sometime before that time period, he was told not to be around a certain member of the St.Kitts-Nevis Labour Party Opposition during his off time from work.

While who allegedly told him so and why is not known, a source has pointed to party politics.

This media house understands that Officer Hodge, who is now stationed in Nevis, originally hails from Constituency Six for which Opposition Leader Dr. Denzil Douglas is the Parliamentary Representative.

The officer who had a court date set for Thursday 11th October at the Basseterre Magistrate Court, made an early appearance  on Thursday 4th October, and the matter was adjourned until Friday 9th November.

Officer Hodge was charged for Driving Without a Valid and Unexpired Driver’s License and for Driving Without Insurance on Thursday 20th September for operating a privately owned vehicle, and received bail in the sum of $10,000 with two sureties the next day.

Widespread public debate links Constable Hodge’s arrest taking place the day after driving Dr. Douglas to the recent Independence parade held at the Warner Park Cricket Stadium.

Party Deputy Leader Marcella Liburd (of Constituency Two) and Konris Maynard of Constituency Three were also in the vehicle.
