Nevis Man Shot In Face During Attempted Robbery

BASSETERRE, St.Kitts (Monday 8th October 2018)- On the sister isle of Nevis over the past weekend, one man was shot and injured in what police say was an armed robbery.

In the wee hours of Saturday 6th October, at around 2:00 AM, Clay Ghaut Estate resident, Keno Claxton was shot after leaving a shop in Bath Village.

Police say that upon leaving the shop, Claxton headed to his vehicle and was confronted by two armed masked assailants who demanded money.

“Preliminary investigations have revealed that sometime before midnight, Claxton went to a shop in Bath Village, and upon leaving the shop, sometime later, he walked to his vehicle and was accosted by two armed masked assailants. They demanded money. At some point during the robbery, Claxton was shot” it has been reported.

The 35-year old was transported to the Alexandra Hospital via private vehicle with gunshot wounds to his face and arm.

The scene was processed and items of evidential value were taken into Police custody. Anyone with information regarding this incident are being urged to call the Charlestown Police Station at 469-5391 or their nearest Police Station.

Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
