The overall performance of Team St. Kitts-Nevis at the 2023 CARIFTA Games recently held in the Bahamas has certainly created quite a refreshing and inspirational level of patriotism which continues to make us beam with pride as a nation and people.

Our eyes were glued to our tv screens and other electronic devices as we locked collectively sharing in the moment for every event that our athletes competed in. Our hearts and eyes raced with emotions in cheering and encouraging our Team Unstoppable SKN.

Even amidst the controversial challenges, we have rallied together to express our sentiments which too has led to emotions of patriotism geared towards unwavering support and being vocal in standing together and standing up for each other. What a thrill!

The spotlight at this point belongs to our young people making positive strides in their capacities as sports ambassadors. However, it must be said that their self discipline, determination and dedication have been the homegrown personality pedicure which continues to bloom, and so they have been fully capable of representing their country abroad.

Indeed, they are role models as part of the outlook for our nation’s bright and prosperous future in whatever field they choose, certainly they fit the category of future leaders. It goes without saying that years from now, many of us would proudly recall our state of mind for the 50th edition of the CARIFTA games though, frankly speaking, with the bittersweet elements.
