BASSETERRE, St.Kitts (DECEMBER 2017) – The manager of well-known national soca artiste ‘Rucas, Patrice Henry, has a bit of advice for the St.Kitts-Nevis National Carnival Committee and that is to get a rule book for the revamped soca monarch competition which now sees the Power and Groovy segments fused as one.
“I think coming from the management Team of Rucas, we’re a bit displeased with certain things as it relates to the competition. Up to now, we have not received a rule book and for each time that we have made certain requests, we are met with equal reluctance but how can you be reluctant to me if there are no rules, and that is something that is of major, major concern.”
She added: “I certainly believe that had it been that there was a rule book and that persons can sit down and really know what they can and can’t do then you won’t end up in a predicament with persons feeling disappointed so my greatest plea to the committee would be that the artistes needed to get rules and regulations.”
Asked whether the team would issue a formal letter on such sentiments expressed, she replied: “That could be taken into consideration.”
Henry went on to say: “We would certainly articulate our concerns; I’m not sure about a formal letter.”
