WEST INDIES LEAD BANGLADESH T20I SERIES 1-0 — Cricket West Indies

Devon Thomas and Keemo Paul have been ruled out of the third and final T20 International against Bangladesh. Thomas sustained a thigh strain while holding three catches during the first T20I at Windsor Park in Dominica, keeping him out of the second T20I. Paul, who played in the second match as Thomas’s replacement, complained of flu-like symptoms and was tested for COVID-19. Left-handed all-rounder Dominic Drakes was named as the replacement for the third match at the Guyana National Stadium. West Indies lead the series 1-0, with the first match a no result due to rain and West Indies winning the second by 35 runs. The Bangladesh tour of West Indies also saw West Indies win both Tests, by 7 wickets in the first at Antigua and by 10 wickets in the second at St Lucia.

VIRAT KOHLI REQUESTS REST FROM INDIA’S WEST INDIES T20I TOUR

Star batter Virat Kohli himself asked for rest from the entire series against the West Indies, including the five T20Is, according to sources in the BCCI. The five-match T20 series starts on July 29 in Tarouba, Trinidad, followed by two matches in St Kitts on August 1 and 2 at Warner Park, and concluding in Florida on August 6 and 7. Kohli will be available for all series after the West Indies tour and his place in the national T20 squad for the Asia Cup will depend on his T20 form in upcoming matches against England.
