BASSETERRE, St. Kitts (Wednesday 15th June 2022) — The People’s Action Movement (PAM) has launched Troy A. Flanders of Saddlers Village as the new candidate in Constituency Six — an area that the party has never won, being a stronghold of the St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party. At a candidate launch and office opening ceremony held on Wednesday 15th June at Willet’s Great House in St. Paul’s, Flanders was publicly introduced for the first time, making it officially seven out of eight seats that will be contested by PAM in the upcoming General Elections. Constituency Six has traditionally voted for the SKNLP, and Flanders is expected to go up against long-standing Parliamentary Representative and former Prime Minister Dr. Denzil Douglas.

PAM candidate for Constituency 3 Kervin ‘MiloBox’ Freeman spoke about the decision to contest the seat: “There were thoughts of what shall we do, as it is not a seat that PAM has ever won… and that’s why I like my honourable leader because he said this is a party that is going to put candidates in all the constituencies because we have PAM people throughout the whole of St. Kitts and we’re going to make sure that each PAM supporter gets a chance to vote in this election.” Flanders said in his debut speech: “I know for sure that PAM is the best political movement to take the country upwards and onwards. As I go around talking to the fine residents of Constituency Six, it is clear that they demand better representation from their representative.” The other PAM candidates are Natasha Grey-Brookes (Constituency 1), Jonel Powell (Constituency 2), Lindsay Grant (Constituency 4) and Chesley Hamilton (Constituency 8). One more candidate is expected for Constituency 7.
