The Labour Spokesman Editorial
It is with dismay and anxiety that most of our people have at long last come to the realisation that the entity which calls itself ‘PLP’ is not Labour, and that allowing it to gain political traction in this country was one of the gravest errors ever made by the electorate of St Kitts and Nevis. The other political groups which went along with it are themselves ruing the day that they allied themselves with the naked emperor and all that he stands for.
Groups which are supposed to be allied are suddenly finding out that the ‘emperor’ and his minions have been, for a long time, hard at work sowing disaffection and discord within their membership. In one particular instance a ‘partner’ group suddenly found itself confronted with the fact that the emperor and his lot have been hard at work assisting a rival political party with getting ready to defeat them in elections to be held in the not too distant future. That help includes financial support, even as he purportedly withholds funds from his ‘partner’ organisation.
It is the seemingly unending disclosures of corruption which are causing our people the greatest pain. Most cannot believe that what is going on could really be happening to our beautiful little country. Meanwhile, the naked emperor desperately continues to fire civil servants and others, then fill their positions with his own creatures, each of whom has to meet the requirements demanded by his innumerable corruptions, all of whom are poised to do his every bidding. At this special time of year we are presented with opportunities to pause, reflect on where we have erred, and seek to take such corrective action as may be necessary. Our comrade leader, Dr Terrance Drew, and his wonderful team of candidates, are professionally and personally committed to lead us on that most desirable course of reclamation, fortified as they are with a full commitment to Labour’s Code of Ethics. Let us all rally to their side. From the editor and staff of The Labour Spokesman, a very Blessed and Happy Easter to everyone.
