Prison Escapee Found In Old Village Slapped With Another Charge

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts ( Tuesday 14th October 2018)- Prison escapee, 23- year-old Ernesto Lawrence of Farms Site, Sandy Point, who carries the nicknames Spanish and Stevy, is back behind bars after being on the run for 10 days.

Lawrence, a Kittitian, was recaptured on Monday 15th October in Stapleton, St. Peter’s during a patrol by the Special Services Unit and the Defence Force.

This media house understands that the young man originally hails from that community.
Authorities say that he escaped police custody on October 5th.

Lawrence was taken into custody for the offence of Larceny and is also a person of interest in an armed robbery incident that occurred in the St. Peters area.

He has now also been charged for the offence of Escaping Lawful Custody and has been remanded to the Her Majesty’s Prison in Basseterre.

Investigations are ongoing.
