BASSETERRE, St. Kitts (FEBRUARY 2018): Music lovers are at the edge of their seats as they await the final and complete line-up of the 2018 St. Kitts-Nevis Music Festival which is scheduled to be announce today, Friday 16th February.

The music extravaganza which traditionally featured three nightly concerts over the years has now increased to five days and is slated for June 27th to July 1st.

The committee has already excited fans by announcing the first wave of artistes on December 21st, which includes the likes of Lauryn Hill, Patti LaBelle and Spice.

Chairman of the Music Festival Committee, Damian Hobson, said that this year will see a change in the ticket pricing structure.

“This year we’re gonna try something new which is allowing you to buy your ticket online, get a barcode on your phone and when you get to the gate you just scan your barcode to get into the venue. The pricing structure is for everybody, we are cognizant that most if not everybody has either a debit card or credit card or bank card so it allows you to buy your tickets online.”

“The idea is to provide certain benefits to buy early and all this will be done online as part of the new platform we are running, and then the physical tickets will be available on June 1st but up to May 31st it’s strictly online purchases,” he added.

He further indicated that the detailed pricing structure will be revealed on Friday.

In addition release of the lineup, the event will also see the launch of the festival’s new website.

The St. Kitts Music Festival is now in its 22nd year, cementing it as one of the top music events in the Caribbean.

Since 1996 over 400 local, regional and international artistes have performed.

Among the superstars who have previously taken to the stage are Creedence Clearwater Revisited, the Goo Goo Dolls, Billy Ocean, Michael Bolton, Jason Derulo and John Legend.
