BASSETERRE, St. Kitts (Wednesday 4th April 2018)- Wide spread public speculation that the body of a man found this week has been confirmed by police who have identified him as 22- year- old Priston Flemming of Newton Ground who was reported missing over a month ago.

Notably the young man was found dead in the community where he was last seen on Thursday 27th February.

An autopsy performed today (Wednesday) by Forensic Pathologist Dr. Valery Alexandrov concluded that Flemming died as a result of Homicidal Ligature Strangulation.

A relative described his unfortunate demise as “nothing short of utter wickedness” stating that it seems as though he was held and tortured before his body was “dumped like an animal, SK have in some wicked people.”

“God don’t sleep and I believe in the saying… what goes around comes around”, the relative added.

This latest recorded death now puts the Federation’s homicide count for 2018 to nine (9) with three (3) on Nevis and six (6) on St.Kitts.

Authorities say that Flemming’s body was discovered close to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday 1st April after a report was received about a body being found in the mountainous area of Wingfield Road.

As a result, the police responded and visited the scene, along with officers from the St. Kitts and Nevis Fire and Rescue Services (SKNFRS) and the St. Kitts-Nevis Defence Force (SKNDF).

Upon arrival, the partially decomposed body of a male individual was seen among the trees on the side of a steep ghaut.

Reportedly, members of the SKNFRS removed the body and the scene was processed by the Crime Scene Unit.

Information reaching this media house indicates that Flemming’s body was discovered by a law enforcement officer who was at the time hiking with a companion.
