Man Found Dead Close To Train Tracks

BASSETERRE, St.Kitts (SATURDAY 17th MARCH, 2018)-A 41-year-old man of Newton Ground became the Federation’s sixth homicide victim for 2018 after being found dead last night (Friday) following an attack by a gunman in his community close to a train track.

Dead is Glenville Francis.

Reportedly, police responded to a report of gunshots being fired in the Newton Ground area Friday night (March 16) at about 9:35 p.m.

Upon arrival, they found the man’s lifeless body lying on the ground in the vicinity of the railway tracks with a gunshot wound to his upper body.

Investigations so far have revealed that the victim was on the back road when he was shot by an unknown assailant(s).

The District Medical Officer pronounced him dead at the scene. The Crime Scene Unit arrived and processed the area and several items of evidential value were taken into police custody.

 Investigations into the matter are ongoing. Persons with information regarding this incident are urged to contact the Violent Crime Unit at the Basseterre Police Station at 465-2241 or their nearest police station.
