Man Attacked By Gunman While Entering Home

 BASSETERRE, St.Kitts (SATURDAY 17TH MARCH 2018) –One young man was shot and wounded while another individual managed to escape a gunman’s attack last night (Friday) in Taylor’s Village in Basseterre within 20 minutes of a recorded homicide.

Hurt is 35-year-old Hanibal Bassue of that community who is being treated as an attempted murder victim.

Reportedly, at about 9:15 p.m., police responded to a report of a shooting at Taylor’s Housing on Friday (March 16).

Investigations so far have revealed that Bassue and another person had returned home and were walking to go inside the house when an unknown gunman opened fire on them.

Reportedly, they ran, however, Bassue was shot several times about the body and was transported to the J.N.F. Hospital where he was treated for his injuries and is listed as being in a stable condition.

The scene was visited by the Crime Scene Unit and items of evidential value were taken into police custody. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.

The attempted murder of Bassue has taken place shortly after 41-year-old man Glenville Francis of Newton Ground was found dead in his community with a gunshot wound close to a railway track.
