Juvenile Slapped With Armed robbery Charge

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts (Thursday 26th April 2018) Police on Nevis have slapped an armed robbery charge on a juvenile following a robbery at Mem’s Pizzeria in Prospect Gardens, Nevis.

Authorities say that they responded to a call of an armed robbery at about 9:18 P.M. on Wednesday 25th April and upon arrival found the staff and customers outside of the establishment.

“When Officers arrived they found the staff and customers of Mem’s Pizzaria outside the establishment. They reported that they were robbed of personal items by two individuals.

Police enquiries revealed that the masked gunmen ran in the direction of Brown Hill and the Officers set off in hot pursuit,” a police statement said.

One juvenile was apprehended with items believed to be those stolen from persons at the Pizzaria. He was taken into custody and subsequently charged by police for the offence of “Armed Robbery” in the presence of his father on Saturday 28th April.

A second suspect has since been taken into custody in relation to the incident.

Police investigations into the matter are ongoing.
