Through the 1966 Free Secondary School Act, the sons and daughters of cane cutters, drain-sweepers, domestic servants and fishermen were able to attend secondary school. The Democrat Newspaper — the mouthpiece of PAM — came out screaming that secondary education should remain a privilege for the upper class. The Labour Movement championed the causes of the people throughout history; it was through the 1966 FREE SECONDARY EDUCATION ACT that so many of our people were able to attend university and advance their lives. The Working-Class people must understand their history.
