BASSETERRE (January 12, 2021) — The Development Bank of St. Kitts and Nevis has installed thermal imaging cameras at its head office on Church and Central Streets in Basseterre and at its Chapel Street branch in Charlestown, Nevis. The cameras allow contactless temperature measurement as clients walk through the door. Clients with normal temperatures receive a recorded “testing pass” message; those with elevated temperatures are asked to wait five minutes and are re-tested. If the temperature remains elevated after the second test, the client is asked to contact their officer by phone or email. The system retains records to assist with contact tracing if needed.
