BASSETERRE, St.Kitts (MARCH 2018) – Strayed supporters of the St.Kitts-Nevis Labour Party who regret their switch in the lead up to the February 2015 General Elections and as a result wish to return to the now opposition organisation in renewing their support can do so.

So revealed Opposition Leader Dr. Denzil Douglas while speaking at a recently held Party town hall meeting held in St. Peter’s.

“With regard to Labour supporters who would have strayed in the last election and who would want to return home, officially the Party ‘s position is that we must welcome back home those who strayed and are now willing to come home,” he remarked.

The immediate former Prime Minister explained that such supporters should be accepted in going forward so as to oust Prime Minister and leader of the Team Unity Government Dr. Timothy Harris from office following the next General Elections.

“We must make sure that we open our arms to them so that they can return to the fold of Labour and really exert the necessary support that will force dictator Harris out of office. I want you to understand the only way that this is going to happen is by reuniting with its forces that strayed,” he further told.

Dr. Douglas continued: “Look at them; all of them are saying they made a mistake. If they made a mistake then naturally they made a mistake and it must be forgiven. We would have made some mistake (and) they have now forgiven us and they are willing to come back.”

“Let us embrace them comrades. Let us embrace them,” he told clapping audience members who increased their show of approval when asked by the Labour Party Leader to “Let me hear your applause of support.”

More applause followed when he expressed: “Do I have your support? Do I have your support? Do I have your support? Let us bring them back home!”

Notably, however, there were a few members in the audience who do not agree with Party’s position in this regard.

A well-known vocal female supporter who disapproves was heard amongst the applause asking Douglas from afar “Who you mean?!”
