BASSETERRE, St. Kitts — Excitement is reaching a fever pitch as women’s football makes its highly anticipated return this month. The action begins with the President’s Cup on June 14, followed by the official start of the 2026 Elvis Star Browne Women’s League on June 20. Head of Women’s Football Kalia Huggins noted that enthusiasm is building rapidly among the participating teams, including defending league champions Mapau Cayon Rockettes. “Cayon is ready to defend their title. And I know Old Road is not going to back down because I’m sure the females are coming out to see if they can do something similar to what the male team did. Old Road is on a rampage right now trying to capture all titles, but I’m thinking that Cayon are ready to come out and defend this title.”
All matches this season will be played at the National Bank Group Technical Center. The season officially kicks off with the President’s Cup on Sunday June 14 at 6:00 p.m. featuring a blockbuster showdown between defending champions Mapau Cayon Rockettes and MFCR Old Road United Lady Jets. The 2026 Elvis Star Browne Women’s League action follows less than a week later, with opening matches on Saturday June 20 including Hector and Associates Hotspring Bath United vs. Security Forces United, and Mapau Cayon Rockettes (Defending Champions) vs. S.L. Horsford St. Paul’s United Sparks (Newcomers), plus Honda Newtown United vs. MFCR Old Road United Lady Jets on Sunday June 21. Meanwhile, the SKNFA hosted an intensive Safeguarding and First Aid Training session on Friday June 5, 2026 in partnership with the St. Kitts and Nevis Red Cross, providing women involved in football with essential knowledge and practical skills including hands-on CPR training.
