Workers (People), are you aware how continually week after week in the Labour Spokesman this Union educates you all about Occupational Safety and Health at the workplaces? I am wondering how many of you remember the 28th April 2019 which was the celebration o of World Day for Safety and Health. We all must remember always and reflect on the global strategy promotion and creation of preventative safety and Health by the International Labour Organisation (ILO) along with the United Nation (UN).

I say to the experts merci, gracias and grazie (These are words thank you words in foreign languages). Notably, expressions of gratitude How can I forget persons like Dr. Alan Le serve, George De peana, Sir Joseph Nathaniel France, Sir Frank Walcottt; they are my guide. Workers! The only organisation that preaches and teaches Occupational Safety and Health is the St.Kitts-Nevis Trades and Labour Union. What can I say: It treats you with dignity and respect. From my point of view, it cares for us better than we care for ourselves.

The Union’s concern extends beyond the welfare of all its members. It also shows keen interest in each individual.

Let me move by grasping principles. We need to meditate to reflect deeply on what we read also and have regular discussions with our workmates especially when we face trials or other challenging situations especially when pray in faith for wisdom and strength; the Almighty is generously ready to give freely.

Workers, before I close let me say something about discipline. While it may be painful, there is even more painful and that is the harm that may result from rejecting (to refuse) consider this example. On many occasions, I wrote asking the workers in the construction area when travelling on their vehicle to have proper seating facilities rather than sitting on the tailgate that is a hazard they are at risk likely to cause injury. What I am saying is that I am trying my very best to spare you from the needless suffering so listen to me and be disciplined and become wise. I will now leave this with you while discipline may include chastisement (to scold severely) it never abusive or cruel; it primarily relates to education.

Workers, let us set standards when we violate them just how important it is to listen to me and the St.Kitts-Nevis Trades and Labour Union Trades and Labour Union.

Workers be aware.

Thanking you.

Hold onto discipline; do not let it go; safeguard it for it means your life.-Proverbs 4 vs 13
