Basseterre, St. Kitts (Thursday 7th December, 2017)– Yesterday (Thursday), the Fire and Rescue Services Department dispatched a fire engine at the Immaculate Conception Catholic School (ICCS) located on George Street in Basseterre, after a fire alarm sounded at the school.
What seemed to be a genuine emergency turned out to be a product of teenage mischief-making.
At around 11:30 AM, fire personnel responded to the report of a fire and investigated the claim.
According to fire personnel on the scene, there was no fire at the school and the alarm was set off by a female student.
Nevertheless, students and faculty had evacuated the building.
Shortly after the law enforcement gave the all clear everyone returned to the building.
It is unclear if the student was disciplined. Officials were not available for a comment.
