BASSETERRE, St.Kitts (TUESDAY 6TH MARCH, 2018)- Mikelton Tyson, 25, of Phillips Village who was recently discovered dead in his community died from a gunshot wound to his upper body, according to the local authorities.
Police say that a post-mortem examination conducted by Forensic Pathologist, Dr. Valery Alexandrov on yesterday (Monday 5th March) has concluded that “he died from a single fatal gunshot wound to the chest.”
Reports reaching this media house indicate that Tyson, who was a security guard at the Joshua Obadiah Primary School, was on his way home after work when the fatal incident took place.
Although his age was initially given as 26, it has also been indicated that “the police have since confirmed that he was 25 years old at the time of his death.”
Reportedly, at about 6:30 am last Friday morning (2nd March), members of the Violent Crime Unit (VCU) responded to a report of a body being found at Phillips Village.
Police say when they arrived at the scene, they found Tyson’s motionless body lying along a road with what appeared to be a gunshot wound.
The District Medical Officer visited the scene and pronounced him dead. The Forensic Unit arrived and processed the scene.
