Since Team Unity gained power on 16th February, 2015, my beloved federation has never been the same.

If my constitution was not strong, if my heart was weak, I would have taken sick a long, long time ago from the constant bombardment of embarrassment and stress meted out to us by this gang of hooligans and ne’er-do-wells parading as our government.
But we were warned.

Dr. Douglas beseeched and preached. Even Timothy’s own family cautioned the membership of PLP that he was a bad man.

But so bent were these people on getting out Douglas and Labour that they ignored all the warning signs and Timothy, just like a scorpion, did not disappoint.

Imagine, not a year in power and he was accused taking bribes already.

Accused taking cash bribes is unforgiveable but watches and shoes?

Heaven help us!

Even the most corrupt leaders the world over are laughing after our leader. And laughing after us too.

What must they be thinking?

This is so humiliating.

They must think that Western civilisation has just reached our shores so we are just getting accustomed to clothes. They must think that we still tell time by the sun hence the need for the leader to be asking for a watch.

But if they know about the other scandals, they will not be surprised.

If they know about the EC/US$16million dollars scandal, they will not be surprised.

If they know about the Stem Cell Scandal, the Herpes Scandal, the Ren Baio Scandal, just to name a few, they will never be surprised.

Just as Labour supporters are not surprised.

Just embarrassed. And angry.

BUT NOT SURPRISED AT ALL!

And that this scandal has broken not only vindicates Dr. Douglas, but is so demeaning that PAM people are humiliated into silence.

All who thought that Dr. Douglas was trying to hold on to power to prevent Timothy from assuming what was rightfully his should now understand.

Dr. Douglas was trying to save us from this traumatic experience that we are suffering through and trying to make sense of right now.

Dr. Douglas was trying to spare us this agony. This shame. This distress.

It is almost difficult at best to conceive of what Timothy Harris has done to us.

And people who want others to see them as intellectuals prefer to stifle their consciences with their frothy “two paragraphs of good writemanship” than to call out Timothy Harris and tell him that we have had enough.

All those who were agitating for good governance before 16th February, 2015, were only after Dr. Douglas.

They really did not care what was happening to our federation.

Dr. Douglas put ordinary people in proper homes with indoor plumbing and indoor kitchens and gave ordinary people’s children the opportunity to reach as far as they wanted to go academically. All this was obviously very disconcerting to the children and grandchildren of the traditional planter class.

Ordinary people were sitting in the same universities as their children. Doctors, lawyers, engineers abounded among the ordinary and this was unacceptable to those who wanted to keep us in our place.

That is why they launched such a vicious attack on the Basseterre High School and the education of a generation of ordinary people’s children to put a halt to the revolution in education that Dr. Douglas and the Labour Party constantly boasted about.

That is why some of them who were intimately involved in orchestrating the demise of the BHS have fled the inner circle of Timothy Harris.

They have seen him in action and they recognised from early that he was not good for the country. They had make a mistake. A mistake of almost biblical proportions.

For I, like many, am convinced that Labour’s removal from office was not by chance. It was divinely ordained.

We had to see Timothy Harris in action.

And we have seen enough.

All those who went away from us and want to come back must be welcomed with open arms.

Timothy has taken our beloved country to all-time low.
