Public Asked To Contact CID After Body Found Floating At Sea

BASSETERRE, St.Kitts (Friday 6th November 2020)-Police are currently investigating an “incident  at sea” in relation to the death of a man whose floating body was pulled ashore by a passer-by in Newtown, and are asking individual who may have information to contact the Criminal Investigation Department.

Dead is 58-year-old Oral Coulbourne of New Road.

According to information from the Police Public Relations Office, police received a report at about midday on Monday on Monday 2nd November 2020 that a body was on the beach in Newtown on the end closest to the Industrial Site.

Investigations so far have revealed that Coulbourne’s motionless body was seen floating in the water by a passer-by, who brought the body ashore with assistance from another individual.

The District Medical Officer arrived on the scene and pronounced him dead.

An autopsy will be conducted shortly to determine the exact cause of death.

Persons with information regarding this matter are urged to contact the Criminal Investigation Department by dialing 465-2241 or their nearest police station.
