BASSETERRE, St.Kitts (Wednesday 29th August 2018)–Police reportedly found a gun at the scene of the shooting death of 32-year-old Mickail ‘Mitch’ Liburd-son of government minister Ian ‘Patches’ Liburd.

Officers combing the Pine Gardens area found a .32 pistol which has been taken into police custody. That weapon is currently being processed at the Forensic Department along with other items of evidential value.

Police say this is the twenty-second firearm to be taken into custody to date.

The local authorities have reported that on Monday 27th August at about 10:15 PM Liburd was visiting someone at Pine Gardens.

Preliminary investigations have revealed that on arrival, as he was getting out of the vehicle, three armed men came out of the nearby bushes and opened fire on him shooting him multiple times about the body.

Enquiries have also revealed that Liburd ran a short distance then fell. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
