Season’s Greetings from the Department of Agriculture. The general public, in those who will be shopping for overseas, are asked to contact the Veterinary Services at 465-2110 for the schedule of countries where frozen meat and meat products are permitted.
Also bear in mind that imported meats and other related animal products destined for public consumption and resale require an import permit from the Department of Agriculture, Veterinary Services and an export certificate of wholesomeness from the exporting country in order for such items to be cleared from customs.
Please note that these measures are necessary to prevent the introduction of foreign animal diseases into the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis. We anticipate your cooperation and have a blessed new year when it comes.
Mr. Melvin James
Director of Agriculture
