BASSETERRE, St. Kitts (November 2018)- More than 10 local media workers, who operate collectively on both islands of St.Kitts and Nevis, were on Tuesday this week ( 27th November) treated to a luncheon at Lemon Grass Restaurant (formerly Circus Grill) located along the Bay Road compliments of the newly-appointed resident Taiwan Ambassador to St.Kitts-Nevis, Tom Lee.
Other officials from the Taiwan Embassy also attended.
Items on the buffet menu were salad, vegetable spring rolls, steamed white rice, stewed mutton, fish in garlic butter sauce as well as Kung Pao chicken.
Speaking with this reporter, Ambassador Lee highlighted the importance of the media saying: “Media is one of the fastest and efficient ways to keep people informed and updated about current affairs.”
He added: “The partnership between our Embassy and local media here in St. Kitts and Nevis contributes to informing the public about our Embassy’s activities, ongoing cooperation projects and also the development of relations between our two nations.”
When asked about the choice of food provided he singled out one dish in particular which was specially prepared in an effort to share the Taiwanese culture.
“Unfortunately, there is not any local restaurant that provides authentic Taiwanese food. One of [the] dishes Kung Pao chicken is a popular dish in Taiwan. We’ve asked the restaurant to prepare it to give our media friends a taste of Taiwan.”
