Motorcyclist Dies In Accident

Basseterre, St. Kitts (THURSDAY 8th MARCH 2018)- Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal accident which took place on the sister Nevis late Tuesday night (6th March), leaving a young man riding a motorbike dead.

According to police, the accident occurred at around 11:00 p.m. in Chicken Stone, Gingerland and claimed the life of 22-year-old Shaquille Dasent of Rawlins Village, Nevis.

Police responded to a report of a traffic accident involving a motorbike and upon arrival they discovered that it involved motor scooter RA356 of which Dasent was the rider.

Reportedly, the scooter was owned by OJ’s Rentals.

Police say further that investigations have revealed that Dasent collided with a building in the area and was thrown from the scooter.

He was transported to the Alexandria Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Unconfirmed reports suggest that the young man lost control of the motorbike he was riding and crashed into a small building on the property of Mrs. Leontine Clarke.

Investigations are ongoing.
