Man Shot During Robbery, Another While Walking

BASSETERRE, St.Kitts– Over the past weekend, following two separate shooting incidents happening 10 minutes apart in Half Way Tree and Cayon, one man was left wounded during a robbery and another injured as well while walking.

Police are reporting that investigation continues into a shooting incident that occurred about 8.50 PM in Upper Cayon and a second shooting incident in Halfway Tree that occurred at about 9.00 PM, both on Friday 23rd June.

In relation to the Cayon shooting, police say initial investigations revealed that the victim, a 28-year-oldmale, was shot by an unknown assailant while walking in the area.

Reportedly, he was taken to Joseph N. France General Hospital for treatment.

According to the local authorities regarding the second shooting, initial investigations revealed that the male resident of Half Way Tree was shot by an unknown assailant during a robbery.

The assailant fled the scene.

Reportedly, the victim was also taken to the hospital for treatment.

Both crime scenes were processed by the Forensics Services Unit.
