Leanna Found Buried in Mountain Beyond Buckley’s …Arrest Made

BASSETERRE, St.Kitts– Missing school girl 17-year-old Leanna ‘Tiney’ Napoleon was found dead and buried overnight Wednesday (14th June) in a far out mountainous region of the Olivee’s area located beyond the Buckley’s community.

Police informed yesterday (Thursday) that a body identified as the missing teenager was discovered in a shallow grave.

Napoleon, who had been missing for over a month, was last seen on Monday 8th May in the vicinity of Buckley’s Site and Fort Street.

Police say one person is in police custody assisting with the investigation.

Information reaching this media house indicate that the person in question is the teen’s brother who has been arrested and released four times concerning this missing person turned homicide matter.

Napoleon was a fifth form student of the Basseterre High School (BHS).

The teen’s death is recorded as St.Kitts-Nevis’ 15th homicide for 2017 to date.

Commissioner of Police Mr. Ian M. Queeley in speaking about the issue said: “This is not the outcome we were hoping for, our hearts go out to the family and friends of Leanna Napoleon.  We hope that the family can begin the healing process and find some closure.  As Commissioner, I ask the general public to be sensitive and keep the family in their thoughts and prayers.”

The local authorities continue to solicit the assistance of the public with regard to this investigation
