BASSETERRE, St.Kitts (Friday 4th January 2019)- Six individuals charged by police for the offence of wounding with intent following a number of incidents on J’ouvert (Wednesday 26th December), which led 64 individuals being arrested, are expected to have their bail hearing today (Friday).

They are McKnight residents Sylvestor Crossley, Crispin Crossley, and Vidal Wilkenson as well as Neon Dasent of New Road, Keshaun Ritchen of Sandown Road and Ahijay Queeley of Old Road.

All men have been remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison.

Police say another twenty persons have been informed that they will receive a summons for offences such as Disorderly Conduct, Throwing Missiles and being Armed with an Offensive Weapon.

Reportedly, others were discharged pending further investigations while some of the persons taken into Police custody on December 26 were held to prevent breaches of the peace.

Information reaching this media house indicates that more arrests were made as Sugar Mas 47 winded down during Las’ Lap held on Wednesday this week (2nd January).

This media house attempted to get a comment from the police as it relates to the overall Carnival events but was informed that a statement would be issued. Before press time, however, no information in this regard was available.
