BASSTERRRE, St.Kitts– The Her Majesty’s Prison (HMP) has been undergoing lockdown sessions following alleged fights between rival gang members at that state lockup facility located on Cayon Street in Basseterre.
Unconfirmed reports indicate that at least two inmates were sent to the hospital with stabs wounds to their upper body following two separate incidents during the course of this week stemming from a brawl that happened over the past weekend, Saturday 23rd September.
When contacted, Superintendent of Prisons Junie ‘Scrape’ Hodge informed that he could not comment because investigation is being carried out, except to confirm, however, that an incident occurred on Monday 25th September and another on Wednesday 27th September.
As understood from him, visitation from members of the public has been put on pause for the time being.
Information reaching this media house indicates that one of the prisoners, said to be in his late 20s or early 30s, is currently being nursed at the Intensive Care Unit at the Joseph N. France General Hospital.

It is not known whether any security officials at the prison were hurt during the incidents.
