This ambitious initiative was highlighted by Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew during the recent Budget 2025 National Forum, reflecting the government’s commitment to enhancing road safety and improving the overall quality of life for citizens.
“Our aim is to enhance road safety and traffic flow through innovative technology. …The integration of AI will enable us to monitor traffic patterns in real-time, thereby improving response times and reducing congestion,” Prime Minister Drew explained.
As part of this forward-thinking initiative, the government is currently evaluating proposals that will incorporate AI-driven traffic monitoring systems. These systems will analyze traffic data to optimize signal timings, manage congestion, and provide real-time updates to drivers through digital signage and mobile applications.
