Additionally, he talked about his Club’s involvement.

“It think it is a very important initiative to have the men of the country in good health, check their health and so Rotary has partnered with Dr. Thaites and his group. We intend to carry on for as long as we possibly can. Rotary is about caring, about service to humanity and indeed we are extremely pleased to have the fourth prostate screening seminar.”

Project Coordinator and immediate Past President of the Rotary Club of St.Kitts Neil Owen informed that Dr. Thaites along with other organisers had been doing prostate screening in Nevis for some time and that the Club came up with the idea to do the same in St.Kitts.

“As Rotary Club, we were looking for a project that would have a meaningful impact on the community and we realised four years ago that there was no one doing this prostate screening on St.Kitts and we thought it would be useful and impactful. We men we have to look out for ourselves and I’m not saying that because Rotary is a male organisation  because men and women are Rotarians, opened to all genders but we as a Rotary Club felt that it was a good project to do; no one was doing it  so we jumped on Board. Dr. Thaites was very key with his team from Nevis; very keen to support us and we think it has been a very good collaboration.”

As understood, patients are expected to receive their results from that day’s testing in four to five weeks.

The Rotary Club’s sponsored youth group called the Rotaract Club of St.Kitts sold breakfast at the event.
