Can The Material With Which Our P.M. Is Made, Bring Progress To Our Federation?

Published on

That we must always use the parable of the prodigal son and the love of his father as our compass in life, for, have we not all sinned and come woefully short? What about those who are now talking out, did they not hear about the man? Having achieved his personal ambition, he has abandoned all of them as he revels in his newly attained position where he now has to be saluted, guarded and respected. But uneasy lays the head that wears the crown. The attainment of our personal ambition using all and any means possible, does not always bring the peace of mind we desire. There are responsibilities to be shouldered and, if you are a square peg in a round hole, everyone will observe your incompetence. The most dangerous action which could emanate from such an incompetent and motley crew and a square peg in a round hole leader is that their concentration would be directed not towards the development of the people and the country, but rather towards the development of their own personal finances, through the bleeding of our Treasury. Money, when it is not earned honestly, does not always bring the desired happiness craved it for. Sometimes it burns our hands scorchingly without leaving any blisters.

We can see the writing on the wall with the payment of two salaries for one job, for one of those jobs has to suffer badly, it is totally impossible, regardless of what kind of math’s is used, to serve two masters at the same time. We have also witnessed the Minister of Works registering a company to deal in cement and steel. The writing is being displayed on the wall for all of us to read, but all of us are lining up at the eye doctor’s office for, all of a sudden, we have all kind of problems with our eyes. If a man was a Permanent Secretary in a certain Ministry and had to be dismissed for incompetence, how could that same individual metamorphosed (change completely) into a competent Minister of Government of the same Department from which he was fired? Please to tell me how, dear reader?

Please to forgive me for being a recurring decimal (11 divided by 3). How could we not rise up in unison when the crew was presented to us and demand that the Marriott man be dismissed from the crew of the Ship of State? What image did we expect to present to the International Community with such a member of our crew? Were we not sending out the message loud and clear that anything and everything is accepted in our country? That we are bare and devoid of morals? We should not be expressing surprise when we heard that a Chinese fugitive was being sheltered here?

We should not be surprised when one of our senior Ministers of Government was severely tongue lashed by a Judge and we lack the balls and the gumption to demand his immediate dismissal from being a member of the crew of the Ship of State. When you fail to blow your whistle for one infringement, you see how your game can run into disrepute? If you did not show a RED CARD to the Marriott man, how can you show the RED CARD to the senior Minister? Do you see how a Referee’s game can get out of hand? We the assistant Referees refused to raise our flags and point out the serious breach of the laws of the game committed by the Marriott man; our failure to do so, has now rendered us disastrously impotent to raise the flag for the senior Minister.

Anything and everything goes on in our beloved land where peace once abounded. The oligarchs and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry have met their match. There is a Minister of Government who competes with their establishments in ordering cement into the Federation and, “Hush was the evening hymn!”

They have bought a whip to cut their behinds and there is not one thing they can do about it, but to grin and bear it; granny always said, “When you are digging a hole for your enemy, always dig two of them:” You see, when you fail to call a spade a spade, when you fail to stand up for principle and when you have sold your morals for a mess of pottage, this is what happens! The Lawyer Minister of Government was severely trounced with a tongue lashing from a Judge and the Bar Association suddenly suffers from cancer of the larynx. Their vocal cords have been severely affected by a cancerous disease, rendering them incapable of uttering the faintest sound.
