Breast Cancer Charity Walk A Huge Success

Basseterre, St. Kitts: The Essence Of Breast Cancer Foundation “Walk For the Cause, Run For The Cure” Walkathon which was held on Saturday 21st October was a huge success.

This is according to, Founder of the Foundation, Pamella Armstrong Hendrickson, who revealed that new walkers joined in the venture.

“I must say I truly impressed with the turnout of new walkers especially, it gives me a sense of pride to see that residents of both St. Kitts and Nevis are interested in doing something in the fight against not only breast cancer but cancer on a whole”, the founder said in a Spokesman interview.

She added that the foundation depends greatly on the funds raised from the walk which helps women diagnosed with breast cancer to receive treatment.

She extended heartfelt gratitude to the major sponsors, ICWI and water sponsor, Cocoa Cola Dasani.

“To the other sponsors: Value Mart, RAMS, Best Buy, Harpers, Best Choice Auto Supplies, Sunlic, Party Central, Island Auto Supplies, the Ministry of Education and to the volunteers, I say Thank you,” Armstrong added.

The walk kicked off at Best Buy in Buckley’s village then proceeded along the FT Williams Highway travelling to the last roundabout in Frigate Bay.

The activities held in observance of Breast Cancer Month continued on Friday 28th October with “Wear Pink Friday” where persons across the Federation were encouraged to wear pink.

The activities will climax on Saturday 11th November with a Fun Day at the Newtown Playing Field.
